"No Carbs" vs. "Slow Carbs" - VIDEO
*Update: If you are looking for some more examples of "Slow Carbs", CLICK HERE.
All of the conflicting information out there about health and diet can become down right overwhelming and I think this is part of the reason that it is so difficult for many people to reach their health and diet goals.
Everybody tends to chase the fads since we are constantly being bombarded by them. I know this well because I spent my teens and twenties trying every new fad and "diet" that popped up. But the truth is, if we were to take a closer look at all of the "diet" and "health" books out there, at the end of the day there is a basic bottom underlining truth that creates the basic essentials to them all..."Eat lots of fresh veggies and fruits, complex carbs, lean proteins, and healthy fats."
There is no book out there that is going to tell you what works best for YOUR body because no book or person knows your body better than YOU.
My passion is to help others differentiate between the fads and facts of good nutrition (and lifestyle) so they can then use this information to create they perfect formula for their bodies and personal goals.
Remember, even though there are bottom line essentials that create a healthy diet, there is no such thing as "one size fits all"! Each one of us has to figure out the formula that works best for us and our bodies, and although this can be a bit of a journey, what could be more important??
With all that being said, I'm gonna try to start to do some more "NewsBites" in order to simplify a lot of the information that is out there! At least this way you will be basing your journey on the facts which will help you to create your formula with more ease.
This NewsBite is addressing the whole carb craze... I promise, carbs are NOT the enemy, so click above to find out what the deal is when it comes to eating carbs!
If you guys have any specific topics you would like to see covered I would love to hear about them. What are some of the challenges YOU face when it comes to eating well and feeling great?

Hi Dani,
I love your web site and all your helpful tips and recipes. I was wondering about oils. I'm so confused what oil to bake with, what oil to saute in, what oil to cook with? Can you help me out? I heard that canola and vegetable oils are bad and that coconut, olive oil and toasted sesame oils are better. Is this true? I'm so confused.
Thanks,
Julie

Kaman :
So if you puree veggies or blend fruits for smoothies, does that make it more easy for our bodies to break down and will it act like a simple carb?

Julie - Oils are next on my list...I'll be doing a post on this very soon:).
Kaman - Great question! Making smoothies or veggie purees does not turn the carbs into "simple carbs" because although they are being broken down they are not being stripped of any of their natural components. So although they may enter your blood a little faster than if you ate the fruit or veggies whole, they are still considered "slow carbs" and are a great addition to a healthy diet:).

What a fantastic video. Now I am just trying to figure out why you don't have a cooking show on TV!
